I know you– you have so much passion for singing and performing. You know the kinds of opportunities you want, but you’re not booking them.
You’ve taken voice lessons before, paid for masterclasses, and bought all the online courses, but you still don’t really understand how your voice works or what your “technique” is.
You’re a perfectionist and always the first person to point out your flaws. You’re hard on yourself because you think it will make you better, but it always makes you feel worse. Your singing is inconsistent– sometimes it’s amazing, other times it’s not, and you don’t know why or how to control it.
And what you REALLY want is to stop thinking about technique at all so you can get into character and let your expressive artistry shine!
That’s where I come in.
My name is Madeline and I am a singer.
Okay, yes, I’m also a voice teacher trained in opera, musical
theater, and pop techniques with an emphasis on evidence-based
voice science and mental health, but first and foremost I am a singer.” I said “I know you”
because I was you.
I jumped from teacher to teacher trying to find someone who could give me reliable, replicable vocal technique
AND a safe space to be vulnerable, make mistakes, and ask allll my questions. Someone who would give me the
tools I needed to use my voice the way I wanted to, not the way they wanted me to. Someone who would meet me
where I was, and see how far I could go. I became that teacher for myself, and now I share that philosophy with all my students.
My job is to teach you how to use your voice to express yourself the way you want to. To help you nurture a kind, empowering relationship with your voice so you can sing with consistent, sustainable, healthy vocal technique and find joy in the process. Each lesson is catered to the individual student’s learning style and needs. If you love to demystify the voice and learn the science behind singing, let’s dig in! If you love imagery and keeping things simple, I’m there with you. I love breaking down limiting beliefs (like “I can’t belt” or “I don’t have good high notes”) and showing my singers they can do so much more than they ever thought they could, whether that’s becoming an advanced expert at one thing, or cross-training in multiple styles of music.

SAMPLE LESSONS

Start with a 30 minute sample lesson. We’ll chat about your struggles and goals, I’ll teach you a few vocal technique exercises to target your specific needs, and we’ll work on a song together.
All lessons are held online via Zoom or FaceTime and require a good internet connection.
MASTERCLASSES
Masterclasses are group sessions where singers take turns performing and coaching with Madeline in front of each other. You’ll learn just as much from watching your fellow singers as you will from performing. It’s a fun, supportive environment where you can feel safe to try something new, make big mistakes and grow as an artist. Some masterclasses have a theme, like All About Auditions, which includes a short lecture discussing the topic at the beginning of the class.
